If I fail in one of the department elective courses, do I have to re-take the same course again?

No, you don’t have to re-take the same course again. However, it is recommended to re-take the same course again in-order to remove the effect of (F) grade. Note that, you can re-take the course again if you get a grade of (C-) or less,

How many elective courses that I can take from the department?

You can take 4 elective courses from the department. However, it is required that you should take at least one CpE course from each of the 2 categories; (Software and Application category and the Hardware category).

How many elective courses that I can take from outside the department?

You can take 5 general education courses from outside the department. Note that, 2 of them are compulsory and the other 3 are not so you have the choice to take whatever you want if it is approved by the college.

Are there any equivalent courses to the compulsory general education courses?

ONLY (0330-102: History of Arab and Islamic Civilization) course has 5 equivalent courses where you can choose one of them.

Does the pre-semester for pre-courses counted from the normal duration for graduation?

No, it is not counted.

If I withdrawal from a semester is it counted from the normal duration for graduation?

It is not counted if the Students Affairs Committee approved on that.

How many times can I take light semester?

You can register (9 to 11) credits in the normal semesters ONLY 3 times in your normal duration for graduation.

How long can I optionally dropout? And is it counted from the normal duration for graduation?

You can optionally dropout from your study for maximum 2 semesters. And YES it is counted from your normal duration for graduation.

How long can I forcefully dropout? And is it counted from the normal duration for graduation?

You can forcefully dropout from your study for maximum 6 semesters. And NO it is not counted from your normal duration for graduation.

What is the normal duration for graduation?

It is 9 normal semesters WITHOUT the summer semesters. It can be decreased to minimum 6 semesters. Also, It can be extended to 2 semesters more if the Students Affairs Committee approved that.

If I fail in a course and I re-take it again, then how the grade will be calculated?

If you re-take the course 2 times only, the second grade will be taken. But, if you re-take the course more than 2 times then the whole grades will be calculated.

What is the minimum and maximum load that I can register in the normal semester?

You can register (12) credits minimum in the normal semester. However, if you are:

Probated student:

You are not allowed to register (12) credits unless you get the approval, provided that you have completed (116) credits.

Normal student:

  • You can register up to (15 to 19) credits.
  • If you have a GPA of 3.0 point and more and you have completed 30 credits, then you can register up to (21) credits.

What is the maximum load that I can register in the summer semester?

For the probated students:

  • (9 to 10) credits for the students who are expected to graduate.
  • (7 to 8) credits for other probated students.

For the normal students:

  • (12 to 13) credits for the students who are expected to graduate.
  • (9 to 10) credits for other students.
